Trivia – a record falls at Roland-Garros!

The prestigious French Open – one of the oldest professional events in professional tennis. The event started back in 1891 and then went ‘international’ in 1925 - finally moving to its current home Roland-Garros back in 1928.

The number of players both men and women, to have touch the hallowed Red Clay of those courts is far too numerous to count. What is most prestigious are the records of achievement for being the “best-ever”. One record has fallen this year already – specifically…that of the FASTEST SERVE EVER by a woman!

In her 1st round match against the #17 seeded player Pennetta, Bethanie Mattek (#101 WTA) Beth fought a tough battle against the savvy clay-court specialist – eventually loosing 3-6, 1-6. However…in that match, Bethanie hit the; ‘shot-heard-round-Paris’!

A 194 KPH / 120.55 MPH serve – yes, it was ‘good’ and yes…it was an Ace!

Bethanie Mattek plays Volkl DNX 9 and uses Volkl ‘Power-Fiber’ (1.25mm.)

Isn’t it time you make some ‘noise’ in your own game?

We are tennis…we are Volkl Tennis - ready to “serve-it-up” for your own needs!
